The following starship classes have been or are being developed by the ASDB. The list includes known facts about the ship classes which have been established in dialogues or in official publications. Feel free to contact us if you know of other canon facts.
Name | Description | Specs | Known ships | Status |
Andromeda | The Andromeda class is a newer starship design. Ships of this class are in production as of the 2360's. | New tech | USS Drake NCC-70956 USS Prokofiev NCC-68814 |
Design finished |
Antares | The Antares is a controversial class - because there are so many Antares classes! Star Trek authors seem to be very fond of the name, and so we have considerably different designs with the same name. | Old tech | To be determined | Design finished |
Apollo | The Apollo class is a starship design from the beginning of the 24th century, according to the known registries. | Mid tech | USS Agamemnon NCC-11638 USS Ajax NCC-11574 USS Clement NCC-12537 USS Gage NCC-11672 |
3 design sketches |
Bradbury | The NX number of the Bradbury indicates that it is a class ship. The ship may have been commissioned around 2366. | New tech | USS Bradbury NX-72307 | Design finished |
Chimera | Nothing is known about this class. It seems to be a newer design. | Mid tech | USS Portland NCC-57418 | 4 design sketches |
Deneva | The Deneva-class design is in use since the very beginning of the 24th century. The ships have a relatively small crew complement. | Freighter, old tech | USS Arcos NCC-6237 USS LaSalle NCC-6203 |
Design finished |
Hokule'a | The Hokule'a is an older class of starships. The USS Tripoli was in active service in 2338 and is now decommissioned. | Heavy cruiser, old tech | USS Tripoli NCC-19386 | 1 design in progress |
Istanbul | The Istanbul class seems to be a relatively large type of transport ship suitable to carry settlers and their equipment. The known ships are named for cities on Earth. | Transport, 2000 passengers, mid tech | USS Constantinople NCC-34852 USS Havana NCC-34043 USS Sarajevo NCC-38529 |
Design finished |
Korolev | The Korolev class seems to be a newer design, as indicated by the Goddard's registry. | Mid tech | USS Goddard NCC-59621 | Design finished |
Mediterranean | There are no known facts about the Mediterranean class except that it was already in service in 2349. | Mid tech | USS Lalo NCC-43837 USS Wyoming NCC-43730 |
Design finished |
Merced | Nothing is known about the Merced class, except that it was introduced in the first decades of the 24th century, according to registry of USS Trieste. | Mid tech | USS Trieste NCC-37124 | Design finished |
Renaissance | The Renaissance is a starship class developed in the first decades of the 24th century. It is both considerably smaller and less advanced than a Galaxy -class ship. Except for the USS Hokkaido built in 2337, Renaissance-class vessels have no escape pods (TNGTM). | Mid tech | USS Aries NCC-45167 USS Hokkaido USS Hornet NCC-45231 USS Maryland NCC-45109 |
Design finished |
Rigel | The Rigel class should be a newer ship class, from the mid-24th century. | New tech | USS Akagi NCC-62158 USS Tolstoy NCC-62095 |
3 design sketches |
Sequoia | Nothing is known about this ship class, however, it appears to be a newer design. | New tech | USS Yellowstone NCC-70073 | Design finished |
Surak | Nothing is known about this ship class, which is apparently an older design. | Mid tech | USS Zapata NCC-33184 | Design finished |
Wambundu | The Wambundu class is an older starship design, probably medium sized. The ships have considerably different assignments. | Light cruiser, medical transport, old tech | USS Drake NCC-20381 USS Fleming NCC-20316 |
Design finished |
Yorkshire | Nothing is known about the Yorkshire class, except that the USS Denver is assigned as transport ship. | Transport, 500 passengers, mid tech | USS Denver NCC-54927 | 1 design in progress |
Zodiac | No information is available on this ship type. According to the only given registry number, it seems to be a more recent design. | New tech | USS Yorktown NCC-61137 | 6 design sketches |
New Tech: ships reminiscent of the
Galaxy, Akira, Voyager, etc. (2340's - present)
Mid Tech: ships reminiscent of the Ambassador Class (2300 -
2340's)
Old Tech: ships reminiscent of the Constitution, Miranda,
Constellation, etc. (prior to 2300)
